Thomas Shahan :
Shahan uses a narrow depth of field to focus on the foreground of the image whilst blurring the background. This shows depth and a perspective that humans do not usually have access to. The point of focus is often the eyes of the insects and bugs featured in Shahan's work as the photographer believes these to be the most significant or part of interest within the image. I would assume that the majority of Shahan's work is photographed using an f/stop value stop around f/2.8 - f/5.6 at most.
Peter Walkowiak :
Walkowiak focuses on wide angle photography in architecture and his images are mostly taken in modern urban life. These images were taken on a wide angle lens that gave a greater perspective and range of angles than that of the human eye and most other lenses. Whilst Walkowiak studies urban life a lot of photographers use wide angle lenses in rural areas such as mountain ranges to give a greater idea of scale.
